Today’s prompt (optional, as always). The challenge is to write a poem that plays with the voice. For example, you might try writing a stanza that recounts something in the first-person, followed by a stanza recounting the same incident in the second-person, followed by the stanza that treats the incident from a third- person point of view.
I decided to write this piece about lies and love.
You Are The One
I lied to you each time you called,
You never had a clue, not at all,
You always thought i was an angel after all.
I felt guilty, i felt ashamed,
You didn’t have yourself to blame,
You thought you had a partner to claim.
I wanted to tell you, i wanted to confess,
You accepted and never oppressed,
You still loved me, you couldn’t refrain.
I have come back to my senses,
You are the person that glued back the pieces,
You are the one and you deserve all the kisses.
